The Doge Festival in Eraclea is a very important event for the locals. The festival is held to remember the election of the first Doge of the Republic of Venice, Paoluccio Anafesto.

The remembrance of the first Doge is combined with other related events, such as the parades in period costumes, the food stands set up for the occasion and many other events that help to recreate the atmosphere of Eraclea in the past.

The festival takes place every year at the beginning of October. The proceeds go to charity and at the end there is a colourful firework display.
