Since 2002 Jesolo has created and presented the Sand Nativity – one of the main attractions organised by the town to celebrate Christmas. The first edition was an enormous and unexpected success, which encouraged its organisers to repeat the experience. 

Since then many internationally famous artists create beautiful sand sculptures in an exhibition area of around 360 square metres each year that make up the nativity scene. Over the years, the Sand Nativity has become one of the most eagerly awaited events on the Adriatic Coast. 

Each year the town of Jesolo combines the Nativity with organised collections for charity, known as the “solidarity nativity”. Over 200,000 euro have been collected and donated up to the present. 

The event takes place in Piazza Marconi. It starts the first week of December and ends in mid-January.
