The town of Jesolo, with approximately 15 kilometres of beach, is internationally famous as the first Italian seaside town with the longest coastline.
Its economy is mainly based on tourism, thanks to countless and continuous investments made by the town council and local entrepreneurs.
Despite the fact that it has around 24,000 inhabitants, the population of Jesolo increases to almost 500,000 during the Summer, with tourists who holiday in beautiful accommodation, year-round residents and commuters who travel to Jesolo for a day of sun and relaxation.
Jesolo is Italy’s second largest seaside town, after Rimini, thanks to its 6,000,000 tourists per year.
Secondly, Jesolo has also developed its tertiary sector, with many companies mainly offering services linked to tourism.
To a lesser extent there is also a small, but lively, component of agricultural activity in the inland area. Although the sector has become less important over the years, it has managed to develop and provide examples of modern agricultural management.
