The Jesolo Civic Museum of Natural History was created in 1989 by the Cavaliere Pietro Sassaro, who made the first donation on 26th January.
It was then formally set up in 2001 by a Council resolution. The structure is located in the centre of Jesolo Lido near Piazza Trieste.
Ten rooms form the different sections of the museum, while the wide corridor is often used for exhibitions.
The complex occupies an area of approximately 1200 square metres and is made up of various, fascinating sections, such as The Age of the Dinosaurs, The Last Ice Age, The Evolution of the Hominids, Marine Biology, Palaearctic Ornithology, European Mammals, Artisan Crafts, Botany and the Permanent Art Collection.
The museums also organises travelling exhibitions in other provinces and cities.
There is also a large scientific library with around 15,000 volumes.
