Eraclea Mare is the seaside resort of the municipality of Eraclea, just east of the Piave river mouth and Cortellazzo: a quiet, family-friendly beach sheltered by a dense coastal pine forest, next to the Laguna del Mort, one of the most striking natural oases of the upper Adriatic. From Jesolo Lido it takes about 20-25 minutes by car.
Getting there from Jesolo
By car
From Jesolo Lido, in summer the quickest way is the Cortellazzo pontoon bridge (toll): it crosses the Piave at the river mouth and brings you to Eraclea Mare in a few kilometres, avoiding the inland loop. When the bridge is closed (off-season or during Piave floods) you go inland via Jesolo Paese and Eraclea: about 15-18 km, 20-25 minutes.
By bus
In summer, seasonal ATVO lines connect the riviera: check timetables for the Jesolo–Eraclea Mare–Caorle route. Year-round the reference hub is San Donà di Piave, with ATVO buses to Eraclea and Eraclea Mare.
By bike
In summer cyclists can cross the Piave directly on the Cortellazzo pontoon bridge (toll) and follow the riviera: a short, scenic route to Eraclea Mare. The classic year-round route instead follows the Piave embankments via Jesolo Paese and Eraclea: about 20-25 flat kilometres between river and countryside.
The beach of Eraclea Mare
Eraclea Mare's beach is sandy, wide and shelves gently into the sea — ideal for children. Behind it there are no apartment blocks but a dense coastal pine forest, crossed by shaded paths leading straight to the sea. The atmosphere is the opposite of the showy riviera: no loud music, few kiosks, plenty of green. It's no coincidence it's called 'the green pearl of the Adriatic', and its water quality is regularly awarded the Blue Flag.
Things to do in Eraclea Mare
The Laguna del Mort is the unmissable excursion: an old abandoned branch of the Piave turned into a natural oasis, with a wild sand spit between sea and lagoon loved by anyone seeking unspoilt beaches. Then: walks and jogging in the pine forest, water sports along the shore, bike rides along the Piave embankments and to Torre di Fine, and the summer markets in the centre. Cortellazzo, Jesolo's fishing village on the other bank of the Piave, is connected to Eraclea in summer by the pontoon bridge (toll) and makes a great combined visit.
Jesolo or Eraclea Mare?
Eraclea Mare means quiet, pine forest and nature; Jesolo means services, events and nightlife. If you travel with small children and want peace, Eraclea Mare is perfect; if you want theme parks, shopping and clubs, Jesolo is the right base — with Eraclea Mare and the Mort Lagoon as a restorative trip 20 minutes away. The two resorts are so close that many treat them as a single holiday.
How far is Eraclea Mare from Jesolo?
About 15-18 km inland (via Jesolo Paese and Eraclea), 20-25 minutes by car. In summer the Cortellazzo pontoon bridge (toll) crosses the Piave at the mouth and greatly shortens the trip; it is closed off-season and during river floods.
What is the Laguna del Mort?
A lagoon formed by an old abandoned branch of the Piave, now a nature oasis between Eraclea Mare and the river mouth: wild beach, birdwatching and snorkelling in a protected environment.
Is Eraclea Mare suitable for children?

Is there nightlife in Eraclea Mare?
Very little, and that is its strength: evenings stay quiet. For clubs, beach clubs and events, the Jesolo riviera is about 20-25 minutes away by car.
