On Sunday September 20, 2026, the Teatro Vivaldi in Jesolo hosts TEDxJesolo 2026, the event dedicated to ideas worth sharing. Following the success of TEDxWomen Jesolo, an official TEDx appointment returns, inviting us to view reality from new perspectives. The theme of this edition is "Taboo": an invitation to respectfully and openly address topics that are often avoided. Creating space for uncomfortable themes means listening to diverse experiences, overcoming prejudices, and imagining a more aware community. It is one of the few terms that have entered almost all languages of the world without changing form — and this is not a coincidence. Every culture has its taboos: invisible boundaries that influence how we think, act, and relate to one another, often without even realizing it.There are taboos about the body and health. About relationships and family. About work, failure, and death. About the technology that scares us but we do not know how to discuss. About society that is changing faster than we can accept.Choosing Taboo as a theme does not mean wanting to provoke. It means acknowledging that the boundaries of what is possible to say, think, and imagine together — need to be redefined.
