Jesolo Paese
"The authentic heart, away from tourism"
What it's like to live in Jesolo Paese
Jesolo Paese is the town's historic centre, the part residents simply call "il paese" (the town). Here you'll find the town hall, the public library, the main schools and the offices that keep Jesolo running all year round. Among ancient early-Christian walls, narrow streets and intimate squares, life flows at a different pace from the Lido: slower, more local, more authentic.
On summer evenings you stroll along the banks of the Sile with swans gliding a few metres away, stop for an aperitivo in the little squares, or do your shopping at the weekly market. In winter the town carries on as normal: the bars are open, the neighbourhood shops have their regulars, the community comes together. It's the area that most resembles a small, traditional Venetian town — except that the sea is 5 km away.
Perfect for those seeking a stable base, public services within easy reach and a sense of community that the Lido neighbourhoods lose in summer.

Frequently asked questions
Is it good to live in all year round?
Yes, it's the most "normal" part of Jesolo: public services, schools, work and a stable community. In winter the pace doesn't change.
How far is the sea?
About 5 km, 8–10 minutes by car to Piazza Mazzini. By bike on a dedicated cycle path it takes 15–20 minutes.
Are there schools?
All of them: nurseries, primary, middle, grammar and technical schools. It's the town's education hub.
How do you get there from Venice?
By car: 45 min via the A4 + SS14. ATVO bus line 23 direct from Mestre/Venice. Many commuters live here and work in Venice.
Is the market the historic one?
Yes, every Thursday morning in Piazza Mazzini (in the Paese): food, clothing, flowers. It's the community's weekly get-together.
Second-home IMU tax?
The standard rate set by the municipality of Jesolo. A local accountant can help with the calculations.
