Jesolo is in Lonely Planet's guide to the Veneto, and anyone can read what it says about us: until 19 October 2026 Lonely Planet Italia is giving away the full PDF of the guide (in Italian). The section on Jesolo describes it as one of the liveliest beach resorts on the Adriatic, where families also find everything they need.
How to download the guide
Just go to the Lonely Planet Italia Veneto special page and click on the download: the PDF downloads straight away, without creating an account or leaving your email. It is a large file, so it is best downloaded over Wi-Fi.
The guide is free until 19 October 2026. Once downloaded, though, it stays on your phone or tablet and you can look things up whenever you need, even offline.
It is the third Italian edition, published in February 2024 and produced in a special version for the Veneto Region. For this reason some practical information, such as the prices and opening hours of attractions, may no longer be up to date: always check the official websites before you go.
What it says about Jesolo
The section starts with geography: Jesolo lies at the northern tip of the Venetian Lagoon, near the River Sile. Then it gets to the point: the town centre is the place for the evening stroll, shopping and fun, while beach life is concentrated on the Lido. It is the beach, more than 15 km long, together with the services it offers, that makes Jesolo what it is.
In the section on entertainment the guide is in no doubt and puts the theme parks at the heart of what is on offer. It mentions Caribe Bay, which it describes as repeatedly awarded best water park in Italy and in Europe, the evening funfair of New Jesolandia, the go-karts of Pista Azzurra, the inflatables of Gommapiuma, the Sea Life aquarium, the Golf Club and Tropicarium Park.
For a place to stay, Lonely Planet picks three very different addresses: the agriturismo (farm stay) La Barena, among the salt marshes of the northern lagoon, described as a corner of peace and quiet, and two seafront hotels, the Termini and the Ruhl Beach. For food it chooses Magazzino delle Scope, a cicchetti bar (Venetian small bites with wine) with a carefully chosen wine list and a children's area. You will find the town's other places in our hospitality guide and in our guide to restaurants and bars.
Jesolo beyond its own section
Jesolo comes back on several other pages. In the selection of the Veneto's highlights, under the entry devoted to the sea, the guide portrays it as the riviera of beach umbrellas, foam parties and nightlife, with excellent options for families too.
In the part for those travelling with children, Jesolo is among the recommended beach resorts, for its long beaches with shallow water and its well-equipped beach clubs. Cycling fans will find the Ciclovia delle Spiagge (the Beaches Cycle Route), 55 km from Jesolo to Caorle through lagoon, sea, rivers and canals.
The article in which Lonely Planet Italia presents the initiative also points out that the Veneto coast does not live on summer alone, and mentions the Sand Nativity, Jesolo's nativity scene made of sand, which draws visitors even in the colder months. It is the same spirit as our story on Jesolo 365.
Why it matters
For a beach resort, appearing in a Lonely Planet guide means being on the shelves and phones of people planning a trip to the Veneto, often starting from Venice. And the portrait is that of a complete Jesolo: beach, fun, families, lagoon and good food.
